Quran Memorisation Classes

Introduction

Darlington Islamic Academy runs Qur’ān Memorisation Classes for learners of all age, which are operated by experienced, qualified ‘Ulamā. These classes are ideal for those who are enthusiastic, motivated and are interested to start a strenuous, yet a pleasant journey in memorising the Qur’ān to complete. It is also designed for those who are already in the process of memorising the entire Qur’ān, and for those Ḥuffāz who wish to continue to revise their Qur’ān under the supervision of experienced, qualified ‘Ulamā.

Course Outline And Syllabus

The structure and formation of Qur’ān Memorisation Classes have been adopted based on the corporate memorisation structure, which are as follows:

Sabak: Memorisation of new texts

Sabak Para: Revision of recent texts

Dhor: Revision of previous texts

After the memorisation of each Juz`, the student will be required to recite the full part to their fixed tutor and another member of staff before progressing to the new Juz`. 

Tajwīd: The students, throughout their course, will also engage in learning the science of Tajwīd, which will be structured by their tutors.

Days: Monday to Thursday

Timings: 5:30 pm – 8:00 pm

Requirements

An acceptable standard of recitation, fluency and memorisation is a prerequisite, which will be assessed by two members of staff as a latter part of the application process. If deemed acceptable and passed the criteria, the applicant will be put on a 6-week trial to assess their progress and capability in completing the course.

Fees

The fee for each student is £650 per academic year. This can be paid over 10 months (£65 per month).
